My Ideal grade is GVG. Cheap enough to pick up in quantity, no fear in reading them, yet not so beat they are unattractive. That being said, the Higher grade books I have lucked into REALLY appeal to me, so I may be bumping that up to VGF as I go. I certainly can't afford VFs at this point.

 

My list is based on 3 things - Covers, stories & Scarcity. Sometimes a dog cover hides a brilliant story. Also, I have had hundreds of them the last time I collected so I am really excited by books I have never owned before, so they had more weight while compiling this list. Some like Beware #6 I have had twice, but is such a great book inside it is on the list again.

 

So here we go... the 89 I was able to narrow it down to. Also, of course it would be longer since I am not counting the 35 or so I already have. Some notes are included. All the Superior issues are on the list for having GREAT stories, but are not noted.

Strange Tales #18 is definately my favorite Fox story. The detail in the inking & overall atmosphere is just incredible. I actually prefer that one story to most Wolverton :o That being said I never had Uncanny Tales #6, so I don't know whatthat one looks like.

 

JIF #10 is on there..... But it is a book I have never had :sorry:

I haven't read all of the Matt Fox stories so it's nice to hear you thoughts on ST 18. I think the coloring on it suits the art as well. If you find another similar or better story let me know.

 

Regarding JIF 10 I'm not sure why I missed seeing it on your list. I think you'll love the book -- Evil Intruder is my favorite story from Superior. I'm particularly fond of the covers to 8 and 13 but 10 and 12 have better stories.

I can't wait to get a JIF 10 then! I was down to needing less then 10 comics for the entire Superior horror output, and that was one of them. My favorite Superior story is in Strange Mysteries #10 "Revenge Can be Fatal" - Man oh man that is once crazy comic! :cloud9:

This books is structually very nice but it's obvious in hand that it was stored in a moist environment. No water damage but staple rust.

Color is better than it looks in the scan. My scanner made it look washed out.

I already Strayed from my list, not 24 hours after making it doh!

 

Mister Mystery #17 did me in...

 

If it makes you feel any better, your posted list added muchos libros to my list! :blush:

 

Then I noticed this cover today and added it too! doh!

 

Edit: This was on your list also but I noticed the LG copy on ebay...
