The last page of AMAZING SPIDER-MAN #180 did not promote the next issue #181...

instead it promoted #182...I guess #181 was supposed to be a surprise.

It appears Spider-Man 181 was a fill in issue, where the original production team got behind on schedule and they substituted some material already on hand. It happened back in the day on occasion, with sometimes Stan even telling you he was doing it.

Sal Buscema did the art on ASM 181 while the issues before and after were done by Ross Andru.

It was a nice recap and a cool Kane cover to boot.

Although filler it was a great issue. ALL of Spider-Man's villains to that time appeared in some shape or form in flashback. (worship)

Good issue for someone just finding out about SM. (thumbs u

Thank you...that's exactly what I thought!

I wish this had been done with some other titles over the years.
