We picked up a bunch of cool random oddball golden age at OAF Con and via a store walk-in. Since we don't have any conventions coming up in the near future I figured I would offer some of them here on the boards first, before listing them on our site. Yes, you basket of deplorable funnybook collectors get first shot at these before they are offered anywhere else! Please read these rules...

 

1) All prices include shipping in the continental US. We can figure out shipping costs for Canada and the rest of the world. Regardless of what happens in the next week Bedrock City will not build a wall and everyone is welcome to join in this sales thread!

 

2) Some folks may feel that because they are rich they are entitled to garb anything they want. Not here!!! The first "take it" in the thread Clintons all. While personal messages are always welcome please feel free to ask any questions in the thread. I don't think emails are that important, but if you do feel free to email me at richard@bedrockcity.com

 

3) Threadcrapping is encouraged! I will not have any protestors who disagree with my viewpoints beaten and escorted out of the thread. All are welcome!!!

 

4) Checks, credit cards and paypal are all welcome.

 

5) If, for any reason, you are not satisfied with your purchase you are welcome to return it for a full refund...no questions asked!

Comedy Comics 14 - First Super Rabbit. Super tough Timely superhero first appearance.

Appears as a very good to fine but has a gag strip cut out of an interior page. Doesn't affect the Super Rabbit story. Strictly graded 1.8 with off-white pages. This book is never offered for sale. Extremely scarce - and thats not just a sales pitch. Despite the interior defect this is really a pretty book...and where else can you get a Timely first appearance for under a grand???

Second Super Rabbit appearance. Gorgeous looking book except the cover is cleanly popped off the single staple. A spine roll and a back cover tear complete the defect list.

I grade it a gvg with off-white pages.

Archie Comics #8

I grade this a very good minus due to a couple of weird defects. First the normal stuff - it has a minor spine roll and a one inch tear on the right side of the front cover. Now the abnormal stuff - it has a large name written in bold cursive through the logo. It also has two staples unnecessarily added at the top and bottom of the spine. They are not obnoxious and are very well placed, but they don't need to be there.

This is a very scarce book and is completely under-represented on the census.As a 3.5 this would be one of the higher graded copies. If the staples were removed, the spine roll diminished, and the book flattened a bit it would probably grade in the 4.5 area which would place it near the top.

Very Good. Off white pages.

It appears that someone placed a Frank Frazetta type flourish in the middle of the cover.

Highly doubtful that this is actually a Frazetta squiggle so please ignore it...unless it really is a Frazetta squiggle...in which case you are getting a bonus!

Very Good. Off-white pages.

I am a few days late in listing this. It would have been perfect for Halloween!

A pretty cool, seldom seen...and even more seldom asked for...golden age DC Kirby title.

It is solid and pretty but has a fairly large spine roll.

This is one of the later Tip Top issues significant because of the partial Peanuts cover.

This particular copy is also stunning because of the grade considering the black cover.

good plus - cream to brittle pages

This comic is interesting. The cover is super bright and looks great with less than average wear and knock out eye appeal. There is some very light staining visible on the back cover. The interior pages show additional staining along the right edge, and where the stains occur the paper is extremely brittle. Fortunately the chipping doesn't extend into any artwork.
