OT: what are your 100 most notable non-comic illustrations of the 1980s and up

For fun I put together a list of 100 of, in my opinion, the best/ most desirable non-comic illustrations from the 1980s up.

I'm sure I'm missing good pieces, even whole categories, as its impossible to know everything about everything, and I'm sure my list skews towards my biases but when the list is so big in scope, how can it not.

What's your top 100?

Exclude digital art, photo art, etc.   I also tried to ignore pieces where the art's primary purpose was for something else.

There were lots more albums I wanted to include, but most of them are photos, few had real art... I don't know rpg games at all so I'm sure I missed lots of good ones there.

Isn't the Otus late 70s?

Raymond Pettibon - BLACK FLAG album covers (Family Man and My War especially)

Those are really cool, they wouldn't make my list but an expanded list they'd be on

You know, I was thinking recently about creating a "Fantasy Art Collection" thread where people picked their top 10 illustration or comic art pieces (no fine art), if money and availability were no object.   I would be curious to see how many iconic illustrations like the ones listed in this thread would make peoples' lists over comic art.  I'm pretty sure about half of my list would be illustration art, including all 4 pieces cited above.

Michael:   You're not wrong, lots of snow here lately.   Melted now.

Gene:   Yeah, comics don't figure prominently for me at all post 1990 or so.    Lots of pre 90 comic pieces would be interesting but if I changed this list to be 90s up, all illustrations including comics?   I'd have 3 or 4 comic covers on it total, on the top 100 list.   On the top ten list I'd have none.   They just aren't that relevant (to me) once you get into that early 90s gimmick age

to tie this back in to the thread about modern art and that.   I do agree that modern comic art won't be worth so much long term.. but not because of the format of the art.     Just because at the end of the day, comics don't matter much as an entertainment vehicle post 1990.   That's about the time they became mostly irrelevant.    I've collected all my life and yet when I sit down and think about it I really don't give a flying fark about 99.99% of post 1990 comics.   Sitting down to create this list really crystallized that for me.
