mysterio
Looking on the bright side, 9.8s can have a minor spine stress or two, so you may be ok. I've bought more than a couple 9.8s with light spine stress. I've also seen 9.6s that have none.
oakman29
I use top loaders for my books and I love em, of course I use magazine size for everything.
musicmeta
I tore the cover almost completely off on a Giant Size Invaders #1 that looked like a rock solid 9.4/9.6 trying to put it into a Mylar...I still use 4mil Mylars but I'm really careful now. I use the GA size for everything and never had any problem. Mylite + fullback and into a toploader for the good stuff. The modern size toploaders are deathtraps. The toploader is going to dull that pop of color a little bit, but for storage it doesn't bother me in the slightest. If I want to look at a book it is easy to slide them out of a GA toploader. For box storage of better books this is my favorite solution by far.
