not sure if this will help any or add to the confusion...

Long story short, i was working a deal with him to purchase 19 long boxes of back issues. The deal ended up falling through

(1) because his pricing was higher than what i was looking to pay.

and

(2) because i made a large purchase before he could get back to me.

During the conversation, i had mentioned that i might could pick them up. At this point he said something that kinda struck me as odd, but I didn't really think too much about it after that...

Ok, I'd say 20% marvel, 20% DC, 60% independent. There are lots of smaller key issues, but I promise you won't find any TMNT 1's lol They are mostly copper age and early modern age. I'd be at about $1200 for 19 boxes plus a bunch of randoms. I would prefer to ship them. If you were to come to my house, you would deal with my son. Those particular books are "his". I would stay totally out of it. I'd let him do the transaction lol .

i thought it was a little strange that if i were to pay freight to have them shipped, HE would work the deal, but in person, it would be his SON

Kinda Glad it fell through now, i could just see driving a box truck out to purchase a pallet of books to be greeted by a child... :o

boil boil toil and trouble...

Stir the pot some i will....

Pay it Forward thread, Page 595, half way down...

Shut the heck up bro. How old are you? 2? Leave? Seriously? THis is a Comic Forum, not a "mess and run" forum. Get lost. Deadbeat.

Either act your age (which had better be 18+ considering I shipped you a Porn book...) or bounce off.

ironic?

12 year boy messaging grown adult males asking them personal questions. Someone should call "How to Catch a Predator" he needs to stopped.

He did this to me as well, asking what I term "first date questions." I told him things that are easy to find even here on this site (the state I live in) but he asked for birthdates and other personal things I felt very uncomfortable giving anyone over the internet, for the most part.

Anyone else have this bit of personal-info-mining happen to them?

02/04/14 07:15 AM Complications - OK, I planned to box your lot up today, but I ran into some serious problems. I woke up and vomited about 10 times, and decided to go to the doctor with stomach pains. By the time I had got there, it had turned into severe testicular pain. The doc basically said that it was a testicular torsion. If you know medicine, you know that pain I can't even move without pain you wouldn't believe. It's like a knee to the balls 24/7. Anywhoooo, long and short, i won't be shipping your box for at least a week.

HOLY!!

He gave me this line recently too. The Tales of the Teen Titans 44 in his Copper sales thread came from me just a few weeks ago from a part cash-part trade deal. When the cash wasn't coming through, and I inquired about a status, he gave me the medical situation story.

But that level of detail floors me. I wonder if his dad has this going on, and he is repeating what he is hearing. That is, if his dad is still alive, and this isn't a Norman Bates situation.

"Hi, and thanks for emailing me about that farm property. When you arrive, my son will have to meet you to show you around. I'm very busy with a medical situation."

doh!

No doubt that Pappy is behind this. They picked the right book, too. Low cost, high potential (movie.) Just sad.

I trade up. I started with a $500 dollar comic collection. By trading (and a fair amount of selling and buying) I turned that into $25k. (shrug) It's not really that hard, you just have to know the market. I owe it all to DD's :cloud9:

I'll just leave this here
