Indeed. I don't get any of it myself. Since when is that book a problem to sell? If its the price, well, there have been hordes of grumpy people who have thought the book has been overpriced every year since it was first printed. (shrug)

Not really the same thing. lol

It is way above current market value as opposed to some criticizing FMV.

Sure, I get that, but my understanding was that criticizing price, for any reason, in a sales thread was off limits. Do I understand that incorrectly?

Criticizing price is relative, I might have greater reason to criticize the daily pursuit of GPA highs on bloated speculation keys than a book like this which if, as you say, is so obviously overpriced, should require no warning to buyer.

The guy is not manipulating and massaging GPA data, or selectively quoting or misquoting the market sales data. He's just asking a price for his book. GPA is non existent on a quad signed #1 with two celebs so I don't know where the universal thought is that this is an overpriced book. It doesn't seem to be backed up by the market data I've seen.

The average of the last three sales (all this year) for Kirkman and Moore signed 1's in 9.8 is about $2750. This one adds two celebs. As an asking price this is one of least offensive or laughter inducing of all the recent attempts at hucksterism on the boards.

Regardless, if someone doesn't like a guy's price and the guy is not doing something shady or dishonest that opinion can be expressed in a PM. Posting that in his threwd is poor form.

You and I read GPA quite differently. The celebs with Kirkman/Moore only add cost to the book. The sales price is negligible. 20% over GPA with no fees.

So celebs add no value to a book? That's a novel theory.

If everyone who asked 20% over gpa was open to repercussion free ridicule, the streets of the sales forum would run red with blood on a daily basis. It's certainly not "well above fmv".

Regardless, it's still a massive thread on a guy who wasn't misleading anyone. Way better than the guys who selectively quote and screw with GPA to cite only the last sale or only some sales and are really asking 25-50% over actual GPA.

Yes, you're too sensitive and assuming.

No skin off my nose, but krap is krap. lol

Only by assuming why the lol is there can you call it krap. (thumbs u

Who has to assume? When you came here and corroborated what you meant with this :

And the OP has no issues threadkrapping in my WTB thread anyway. Looks good on him.

Oh, ok. Now it makes sense. It's not like you to threadkrap all willy nilly. This was revenge. At least the confusion is gone.

For the record I agree he acted like in crapping on your wtb.

I also think the celebs on that book are an impediment instead of a benefit. Just my opinion, and I love celeb books, as you well know. Full cast signed, maybe, but not just two random sigs.

Possibly, but the celeb discussion is just smoke clouding the threadkrap. They guy could have said "gpa for just kirkman and Moore was recently $3500 and I'm only asking $3250 which would be partially accurate but would also leave out the two more recent sales for less than that.

He just asked his price. I can't fault someone for that, and really 20% is nothing as a markup. There was a SA book here last week that was marked up that much where the 20% equated to more than $2,000 marked up. That's a lot of bread, but it's his book.

There are threads here everyday where guys determine the value of their books. They may ask well over gpa or add to the price because of scarcity on the census or if it's signed good sig placement or because it was signed on a day that Stan decided to write legibly. It's just all their call.

Yeah, that's what I said, Chris.

It adds no value to that particular book. I created it, sold it and have watched every sale of it. (thumbs u

But thanks, once again, for extrapolating my post in a misleading direction. :eyeroll:

When I created that book I also created about a dozen others. All had similar sales which is why I don't bother with celebs plus Tony/Robert.

You used to be so logical until your vacation last year. I assume something life changing occurred. The lol is not related to the post you quoted but please feel free to carry on. Your crystal ball on the fritz?
