Anybody See the Marvel Comics on Antiques Roadshow last night?

Some original owner showed up with what appeared to be very nice copies of FF4 #1, Avengers #1, X-Men #1 and Brave & Bold #28 as well as a few other key issues. He claimed that he bought them as a kid. Said he amased about 500 books but his parents wanted him to get rid of them. He told his parents he would run away if he had to do it. Said he kept about 100 of his favorite ones.

The apprasier (some one who I have never heard of) commented on them being key issues and estimated them to be good-very good condition. I believe the apprasial was around 15K.

They looked a lot nicer to me. I wondered what else he had...

Anybody else see this?

I've never heard of a store owner stapling comics either, but I can't say I'm surprised.

Looks like the same appraiser has looked at comics on ARS before:

I've never encountered books that were stapled shut. Has anyone?

I bought a few years ago from an OO,pre hero Marvels.Staples removed of course. The fellow said that's how he bought them, from a local tobacco store with a cranky owner.

Store is still open believe it or not,but no more comics...

Damn you PBS for restricting your videos in Ireland

Guess it works in the USA and Canada only then?

Is there a longer version? They don't take a lot of time

I'm not sure if the one that airs is edited differently from the one posted on the site, but that's all of it from the segment I saw online
