exitmusicblue
McFarlane was mindblowing for me. Larsen I have a soft spot for — my 10-year-old self appreciated his Venom and Sinister Six, and Spidey getting his arse kicked all over NY. exitmusicblue
I know he's mostly stuck to covers for Spidey, but DELL'OTTO would top my list for sheer artistic splendor. Hot damn. We're lucky to have him in the comics medium rather than elsewhere.
romanheart
Has to be Romita Sr. I can see he's in the lead. McFarlane had a good take on the character. I would probably pick Ramos 2nd and then Romita Jr, but honestly after this series I didn't care much for Jr's work anywhere else.
JohnH19
Gotta say that, despite my slight preference for Jazzy John, I’m surprised that Sturdy Steve hasn’t received more votes.
spidey300
I grew up with Bagley, Larsen and McFarlane and really enjoyed their takes. But my love for Spidey hit another level when the black and white Marvel Essential books came out. Ditko was the master. After graduating high school in the late 90's, I made an Amazing Spider-man #1 my first purchase off Ebay after saving my pennies all summer (190,000 of them). CGC graded it a very solid 4.0 (no Marvel chipping or missing pieces). Wish I still had it ? But, hey, still have my original Spidey Essentials. Ditko gets my nostalgic vote.
