what's up with CGC's horrendous labelling of whites.

They are not "canadian editions" doh! they are just canadian comics, there IS no other edition :preach:

Also, the total lack of artist & first appearance info is emabarassing :tonofbricks:

Maybe an Overstreet Advisor relevant to our cause (cough cough) can smarten them up???

Wow is the run I'm closest to complete on, and although I have no real expectation of ever finishing it, I thought it would be fun to do a group shot. Unfortunately the picture doesn't seem to have turned out :(

While I had the books out, I also thought I'd do a group shot of some of the key books and first appearances:

Triumph 1 - 1st Nelvana

Wow 1 - 1st Dart Daring, 1st Whiz Wallace, etc. 1st Bell book

Triumph 7 - Classic Nelvana Cover, 1st Speed Savage, 1st Bell issue

Active 1 - 1st Thunderfist, 1st Brain, etc

Wow 15 - 1st Penguin

Active 20 - classic hockey c/s

Wow 24 - 1st Dreamer

Nelvana one shot - classic Nelvana compendium of new & old material

high grade #13 with ridiculously nice structure. A back cover bend and some rust at the staples knock it down otherwise this book is in 9.2? territory

Dan, all the photos you posted are fantastic, but this book is a stunner.

That WOW run is really coming along! And that #1 is a really sweet looking lower grade copy.

Great group shots!! Looking forward to seeing some of these in person.

Hey guys, first time on the forum!

For years I researched the WECA Canadian comics and have always wanted to have my very own copies, but didn't have the financial resources. However, I have very recently found myself in a position where I can finally afford to pursue my passion for this obscure and wonderful period in comic book history!

My first ever WECA book is Commando Comics #6, which I got for cheap because it is "incomplete" (it's missing most of Wings Over The Atlantic and a couple ads).

And my second (and only other addition thus far) is Lucky Comics vol. 2, Issue 5, which I also got for a relatively cheap price because of the giant chunk missing from its cover. If you'd like to read this one, I scanned the entire thing and uploaded it to both the Digital Comic Museum and Comic Book plus:

I've also got 2 issues of Freelance Comics coming in next week, which I'll make sure to post scans of right away!
