I would jump on a 4.5 CGC graded version of this book at that price pretty quickly, but in this case this book is just ruined in my eyes.  

But they gave Thor a custom goatee!  I mean what's not to like

After checking my three issues of Tales to Astonish for date stamps, I spotted one not previously known to me so thank you for posting those examples

Tape and writing seem to be pet peeves for me. 

 

I do prefer spine bends vs marvel chips too.

Agreed love the first two not fond of the third. So while I love Date stamps placement matters (ie I don’t want it to be a distraction). It is like a well placed signature that is clean and unobtrusive vs one that is on a character or on their face etc.

If I can afford it and the book makes me happy in hand, I’ll take as many defects as possible!  I’d rather have lots of keys vs 1 high grade anyday.  But my tolerance to defects is high due to collecting golden age books.
