PGM FF#1 second attempt

My apologies for the failed attempt previously. Any thoughts on grade would be most appreciated. The rest of the book is without significant wear or tear. I’m most concerned about the cover the ink squiggle through the title which appears someone tried to erase. Thank you in advance.

I'd feel safe at 2.0 but you may be lucky and get the 2.5...Fingers crossed. That's assuming all is well as you say with the rest of the comic.

Thank you for the above responses. I am adding two additional photos of the spine as someone pointed out that a bleeding spine may be signs of an attempt at restoration. I bought the book through an auction several years back.

I think keeping it here is fine and as more people look and post, you will get more info. It really looks like someone darkened in the line, even if there's no bleed through to the inside. Probably would benefit from a press, but 2.0 for me.

No bleeding noted on the inside cover. I wonder if I should repost this over on the restoration thread?

No need. It's color-touch. The black on the spine line. Other areas too. Like the 10 cent circle and more. Is that a piece replaced up there, or tacked down? Hard to tell with this image.

There are a couple of slightly restored ccg 2.0's sold on Heritage Comics last year. Both fetched US$1,900 with the buyers premium. Seeing those makes me think yours is a 1.5-1.8.

Looks like the most recent Qualified grade of a 1.8 on GPA was last November for $1900.

FF 1 is on FIRE!!!  Even restored copies.

A Purple C-3 1.8 trimmed/married just sold YESTERDAY (July 8) for basically $3000.  Last week a purple B-4 .5 "wrong back cover" sold for $2500.

I know you're disappointed with the resto but don't worry, you've got a valuable comic there.   Since it already has Amateur CT (which is VERY difficult to remove) you may want to consider having more CT done to it to bring it up in grade.  I'm not sure how much it would cost but it would sure make it look nicer.
