Big congrats to you on upgrading your copy to what is now tied for the 3rd highest graded Universal unrestored copy and at a very resonable price point to boot. Recent auctions for raw copies of a few of the Doctor Fate covers have been seeing some crazy prices for otherwise incomplete / low grade copies. Basically, FULL HELMETS = EMPTY WALLETS Spoiler Very surprised this #70, which was G/VG, went this much above $1k. Now THIS price...yikes! This #71 is a REMAINDERED copy with a xeroxed cover top (so a 0.5 universal at best). For comparison, I bought my 6.5 (A-1, Slight Restored) barely two years ago for only $800 (which was high at the time but I just had to have it). This is the biggest surprise to me though, it's brittle and incomplete missing SIX pages! Yes it displays fairly well, but this is the same amount a Universal CGC 2.0 went for earlier that month. Yeah, crazy. These have always been hard to get and pricy. I’ve been tapped out for quite a while. I haven’t got one in years. I picked up this Johnny Quick cover at WonderCon on Friday. From a bound volume but complete with nice pages. As with all of these a solid, great read. Guy had it at $150 and sold it to me for $125. A complete steal for a 1942 More Fun to me. The holy trinity for Spectre lovers. I, at one time owned a 52. Mowed lawns for a summer to pay it off. I ended up selling it along with a bunch of my GA keys to put a down payment on my first house. Was a hard decision but other than this one, never regretted it. I have never owned a 53 or 54 and are very unlikely to ever do so at this point.
