Figured I should get most of the early run and 1st appearance. Found the Transformers actually pretty cheap and debating sending it and some others for the Bill Sienkiewicz signing... A lot of the publishers like Panini use different artwork for the covers than their American counterparts. Like the Panini above being Superman/Batman #13 that sports an amazing Simone Bianchi cover. It had bad interior stains, and some of the interior was taped back together. Not really sure as it may be missing pages. Someone on here said they made "friends" and sometimes got access early. The real challenge is finding the sales that actually have comics, of course - maybe 1 in 20 or 30 will list them and I find the companies are not super responsive to questions. I went to one sale a month ago where they had probably 1000 comics but they were just in stacks and drawers in 4 or 5 places in the house. No organization at all. It was a mess - luckily for me, it was mostly stuff I don't collect, but it was hard to tell for sure. I felt like telling them I would organize the comics for any future sale if I could have first crack at buying anything at whatever price they were charging. Anyway, yeah, I'm going to keep at it. I have ES contacts but it doesn't really matter.. they never do presales and you have to show up first anyways so it doesn't matter. It's better to make contacts w/ individuals who casually show up to these sales and play the long game w them. You can search "comics" as the keyword displaying sales that will be sure to carry them.
