It's weird, it's one of those things where the book was really way ahead of it's time. It came out pre-Dark Knight, and was heavily hyped. And then nobody could make sense of it, and it died on the vine. It was just too different. Personally, I think it's every bit as good as Dark Knight and 300, as far as Frank Miller books go. It's a mix of Lone Wolf and Cub, cyberpunk, and Moebius. It would make a great movie, I think, though it's currently in development hell..
