Though I know I should be flipping the big keys for big money, I spent nearly all of my time in the cheap boxes. $1 each. 2 for $1. Some nice stuff there. Xombi hardly ever shows up in these boxes in my experience. That Rising Stars Preview is a nice book, too, although the series doesn't have quite the following it used to. And because I like commenting on the weird stuff... I doubt that L.A. Raptor 1 is worth much. But it's a pretty interesting little Jurassic Park-esque B&W indie. Can do a lot worse with a buck. A #2 does exist, if you decide you just need to hunt down more of it.

There were a ton of boxes with zero organization -- that's why they were $0.50 each. I would find a glut of West Coast Avengers and then it would switch to Death of Superman, etc. I still pull Rising Stars Preview/0/1 whenever they are cheap, just in case. I had the same thought on LA Raptor -- no idea what it is but the cover was too good to pass up. There probably is a #2 somewhere in that mess, but is it worth my time to look for it?... Existential questions.

I may be reading this wrong, but it sounds like you also had decent stuff (i.e. the West Coast Avengers issues) in your yardsale (discount) bins as well. When I do pull the "garage" boxes out for a sale i flip through them to make sure. i did that a long while ago when I had a bunch of deadpool (1st series!) in there that had suddenly become worthwhile, i think they had been in the year before and nobody bought any of them! the WC avengers book I am thinking of I looked up in like october when I was in the back of my garage to see if it was worth anything, it wasn't, so I left it there. WC avengers were so dead for so long my old shop literally had them in a 10 cent box. Edited March 6, 2021 by the blob
OtherEric
Was looking through a box at home that was largely unsorted dollar bin pickups from the last couple years. At the time, I grabbed this one purely on the principle of “nice Jose Luis Garcia-Lopez cover, that’s worth a dollar.” I then threw it in a box and forgot about it: maidenmate91 and Catwomancomics

There's quite a bit in there worth more than a quarter! There's a lot to love, but just want to highlight that Promethea #32 because I'm always jealous of people who find those in the wild for cheap. littledoom

AmazingComics413
First real shopping trip with my wife since covid. I dropped her at a mall while I went to a couple antique shops. Found this book (I’ve been looking to replace after selling my last copy). The store did not have comics out on display, always ask. After hitting a couple antique shops with a couple scores here and there, my wife texted me and said there was a collectible store at the mall. Blasphemy, I thought to myself. I headed back and the store had an excellent back issue selection, nothing past 2004. The silver was priced wayyyy too high, as were all the Disney/Duck books. The bronze to modern was all priced $1-20. Nothing was alphabetical. Long story short, the owners could not believe I was going to look at every book, and I left with a short box full. Here are a few I’ve had time to scan... manetteska, ADAMANTIUM and littledoom

Glad there was an added place, and also that it wasn't already picked through I dig the Rogue and Gambit cover, I've owned several over the years, not sure if I still own it, but odd that "it" can move rather than say X-men 30 with the wedding of Jean and Scott idk, it really is a cool cover though
