I don't, having not read the story.  They seem to be a list of his treasures:  Platinum, rubies ....

I wouldn't mind betting there's some hidden significance. There's probably loads of books out there with covers like this that the artist / author hid things in - personal thoughts and feelings which are now lost in time.
