PGM Doctor Strange 169 0

Here is a nice copy of Doctor Strange 169. Any thoughts on the grade now and after I Andy Dufresne it? (You know, time and pressure.) That is not a tear on the right middle front. Too bad about the MA in Master though.

Deduction in grade due to penciled in "MA"   VG+ 4.5, VG 4.0???.

5.0 VERY GOOD/FINE (VG/FN):  
An above-average but well used comic book. An accumulation of bindery/printing defects is allowed. Minor to moderate cover wear apparent, with minor to moderate creases and/or dimples. Inks have moderate to low reflectivity. Blunted corners are increasingly common, as is minor to moderate staining, discoloration, and/or foxing. Stamped or inked arrival dates may be present. A minor to moderate spine roll is allowed. A spine split of up to 1/2" may be present. Staples may show minor discoloration. Minor staple tears and minor stress lines may also be present, as well as minor rust migration. Paper is tan to brown with no signs of brittleness. Centerfold may be loose. Minor interior tears may also be present.

Hmm not sure if the penciled in MA would matter too much for the grade. It looks like typical 4.0 to me.

I have very similar 169, I was thinking about posting it yesterday...

 

as for yours...I'm thinking 4.5 to 5.0....but I must admit the back cover makes me less confident as its got some stuff I'm not exactly sure how to grade

If in my collection I'd have it graded  "Between 4.5 to 5.0" to be Ultra safe

Oooh. I've always loved this book. The front cover exhibits appears 5.5, or maybe a weak 6.0. But the back cover has some creasing that extends well into the book in several places. I'm thinking 4.5 as is. 5.5 or maybe a 6.0 after a press/clean.
