Thought I might get a “deal” on the Frazetta bronze death dealer near the auctions end but closing just under 10k it was not to be. Someday under 7k or I’ll die trying. Prices seemed strong for bound mljs given the condition. For me trimming isn’t any more appealing in a bound volume than a raw comic and typically a non starter.

I had exactly the same thought, even had the display location in my office figured out for the Death Dealer.

And are there no Promise Collection books coming up for resale in this upcoming Signature Auction which is probably a sign that the owners of these promise books are getting tired of being taken to the woodshed and getting a financial whupping applied to them.  :fear:

There are at least two Promise books:

Batman #37

Detective #146

Batman #37 sold for $48,000.  Previously sold for $87,000!

Detective #146 sold for $10,200.  Previously sold for $19,200!

Got to be honest with you, I am shocked at $10k for for Detective 146.  One step below an no-nothing filler book.

Maybe they're finally bottoming out.

I guess these cross the $1 million LOSS threshold for the Promise Collection resales.

Don't know if MasterChief's Promise tracking has been updated recently, but this was the list from September:

Happy to see these books amongst our hobbies most wanted. Luckily, I collected most of that run long ago as prices have gone parabolic, especially for the later issues. As cover art becomes more and more the focus of comic collecting Frazetta’s best covers should always demand a premium especially in pristine grades.

Always the toughest one (in my experience) to find in high grade. Not that surprised by the price.
