I mean I wouldn’t even want one for that, but good luck with your new venture into fractional comic book ownership.  I think the crazy is here to stay on the mega keys.

I wouldn't pay that much either for a 9.8 copy.  Just not a book I am not interested in within those price levels.  And no on fractional comic book ownership.  It's a silly idea and if you were to invest in something tangible like a comic book, you would want to own it in your own hands and not have to buy shares for someone else holding it for you.

Well, from my own personal POV, I believe it's a lot more practical for us to spend less time dreaming about our fantasy world 9.8 graded copies, and focus more of our attention and energy to the real world CGC 8.5 to 9.4 copies where probably the overwhelming majority of us live in.  hm  (thumbsu

But are these real world prices though or just pumpers/speculators trying to pump the price up so they can maximize profits to sell? It's like a one last hoorah before a major dump. It's all textbook now to predict.

Well, from my POV with the book being so relatively common even in uber HG condition, it moved beyond real world prices once it moved beyond 4-figures regardless of the condition grade.  (shrug)

It figures that the only book that  really wanted in yesterday's Harlan Ellison Auction would be the one that ends up being top single book lot and almost double the value of the next lot in the auction, and needless to say, way past my top bid:  :(

Sold for what must be a record setting $15,600 given the CGC condition grade level for the Raboy "V for Victory" classic cover book that simply doesn't come to market very often, especially in this kind of grade.  :luhv:

Any bets that we are going to see a similar heck of a price, if not more, when the final hammer comes down on this book next Thursday:  :luhv:

Especially since some darned fool keeps raising the bid price on me (3 times already) after I get the high bid in there.  :slapfight:

Can someone please explain these results to me?

The 28 isn't the prettiest book I have seen and the 46 is a decent mid-grade copy but wow

Wow, for the 28 two beautiful white page 9.0’s sold for not much more in September on the bay. And the 46 seems tough to find online for some reason. In May, a pedigree 6.5 sold for over $1K more than the copy that just sold.

It is a real beauty. Great detail even for him (even though Blue Bolts left leg looks a little too long). The 7.5 last year for 15.6 set the bar pretty high. I hope this one doesn't go that high. And CGC should give Joe Simon credit in the label. :peace:

Wow, I need to seriously re-evaluate what I was looking for on my Batman books getting graded right now.

The cover would have looked much better if they had done away with all of those exploding promo word balloons detracting from the cover image. :p

It would not surprise me at all since this particular L.B. Cole cover is definitely still on the rise and with only 5 other copies graded higher, you just never know., but will certainly be interesting to watch.    :taptaptap:

My, my, my, my
their gavel hits so hard
Makes me say "Oh, my Lord"

Thank you for saving me
With a mind to halt my crazy deed"

It feels good when you know you're outbid
A super dope homeboy speaking candid
And I'm known as such
And this is a price, uh, you can't touch

Two people were drunk bidding on CLINK, or maybe it was someone like me that bid $21 on and item but your browser defaulted to $2100.

I see a number like that and think of a heck of a start to educations for my grand children. Or, selfishly, couple classic muscle cars with a vintage Indian motorcycle thrown in. Or travel to all the places I have ever wanted to see…

That definitely puts it into perspective.  Have a real expensive book stored that you are worried to touch or have a bunch of memories and photos of good times.
