How in the hell do you use the Forum Search effectively?

 

I cant get my brain around the date ranges.

 

Often I try to look for something and get the fabled "There are no results for your query. Please try a broader range of search criteria." mssg

 

The default date range is newer than one week

 

How do i look up something that I remember on the site from a while ago? How do you set the date range?

I always enjoyed Greggy's PMs in the past and actually
