a 5.0 copy of tec 31 is approx a $23K book today

a 5.0 copy of tec 29 is approx a $22K book today

a 5.0 copy of tec 35 is approx a $20K book today

a 5.0 copy of tec 33 is approx a $18K book today

now there are all kind of variables, like structure, presentation, what defects are visible, pq, etc...so, not all 5.0's are created equal... but, that is about what I have seen in the market over the last few years

for my money, I'd want more separation between 31/29 and 35...I think a 5.0 #31 and 29 is worth more than $2-$3k than a #35 in the same grade. 2c
just the facts mister...just the facts...

(thumbs u yes sir :kidaround:

Well, the 35 is catching up to the 31 and 29, but wont pass them. The 29 and 31 will flip in desirability now and then. The 31 is more desired now but I can see the opposite happening not too long down the line. Personally, I like the 29 cover more. Much more action happening on the 29.

I disagree...I think 31 will always hold an edge over 29, albeit only slight (I mean, it has for the past 50 years, not sure what is going to change now)....and I agree that 35 will always lag behind those 2...

Agreed

The 35 will always stay 3d but it has grown to become the 4th most desired issue after 27, 31 and 29 , without a doubt. Its tough to say that 31 will stay 2nd forever though. But no matter what that and the 29 will always be close, that is a fact too.

I think it will be pretty firm soon that of course 27 will stay numero uno and that most likely 35 will become the unquestionable 4th. But I agree that 29/31 will always be very close and possibly flip flop around and around as time goes on. No matter what 29 and 31 are some great books.

Same thought here. It is possible for the 29 to go ahead (even by a hair) of the 31 but in the long run most will desire the 31 more because of the huge Bat cover. But like I said before , I personally prefer the 29 because of the all out action going on. The 35 will not become the 4th , It already "IS" the 4th most desired.

I agree with you there.

And if we where just going on covers of all the pre-robins (Tec 27 included)

31 and 35 will always be my favs. :cloud9:

Strange enough, I dont really think the cover to 27 is great. Not even that good. A very small weak looking Batman, and the way the villain is holding the gun seems uneven. Thats just me though. Of course though, Id take a copy any given day. But, I wish 29 was the first Bat issue. Much much better cover. Not even in the same class

I actually really like 27 but I feel my opinion of it is bias just due to the fact it is the grail of all grails.

While it is not a strong cover compared to 29,31,35.

I feel it is the perfect cover for an opener. Its a full figured Batman. You can see his face. And you know he is fighting the bad guys with guns. I also really like the cape on it (and 29 as well!)

Did you know Napoleon never rode a horse across it was really a mule. The artist just painted a horse because it displayed better and made him more commanding. :blahblah:

Agreed. 29 is a more dark cover and a fantastic cape.

I like the cape on 33 best actually...

It funny how 27 29 and 33 capes differ.

Here's my opinion on the capes.

the 33 is cool too. But his cape on 29 is still nicer, much more dark. Actually menacing. If they had introduced him as a a villain in 29 he could have passed off as one.

The 33....

If you were a villain already scared out of your mind of Bat-Man coming at you and then you see he now has a gun.... Oh my god. Call it a day and just kill yourself (villian)

haha.
