I bid on the 28 also... I almost decided to "shoot for the moon"... but with the WOW factor of that cover, I realized I'd need to "shoot for alpha centauri" ... didn't want to end up stranded there if I made it... if you know what I mean ....GOD BLESS...

More down to earth here’s one I’ve been trying to get back for awhile and settled for this copy just to get it over with. Love the cover but some of the higher grades I looked at had issues not making them worth their much higher price and as 4’s go this seemed in line. Took some offer, counter offer to get but I can live with it…

What a great combination of artists for that issue!

Man comics was one of the more unusual Atlas runs. It started off as a kind of general interest type stories (not sure what else to call them) with various themes like crime or whatever in them. By issue #9 it began war covers and stories but wasn’t really a full war comic until around #11. It stayed a war comic until it’s last 3 issues when you get Bob Brant and the Trouble Shooters series which was kind of fun if not quirky. I kind of wonder if it had lasted a few more months if it might have been used as one of the limited Timely superheroes return titles.
Marvels cinema features seem to enjoy grabbing for the obscure at times and Bob Brant is just waiting for his big break into the movies…

Here's one of the Bob Brant issues for illustration purpose - it's really a mix of Gleason's Boy Comics and the Little Wise Guys à la Atlas - Fun set of books.

One of my favorite issues in the run. I keep it in my horror box.
