I bought a VG copy from SkyPinkBlue a few years ago.

Paratrooper last visited the boards on October 13, 2013, right after he sold most of his paratrooper books - mostly to me.  He was heading off to grad school  - I wonder what happened to him, as he was a fun guy.

This is an important book. I know most of you american collectors are focused on comics produced in the USA, but this short-lived series published one of the most important italian characters of the period: Will Sparrow, an air pirate which can be rightsously seen as Italy first "anti-hero" (a villain featured as the leading character). Plus, as the "icing of the cake", the character was co-created by Federico Pedrocchi and Kurt Caesar, two incredibly important, essential figures of italian comics: Pedrocchi has been the founder of the italian Disney school of authors ("Will Sparrow" was originally published in nthe italian Donald Duck title, starting in 1937: https://it.wikipedia.org/wiki/Paperino_e_altre_avventure), and Caesar was a german author which has been living in Italy since the early 1930s, also due to his lack of sympathy for the nazist regime, and served during WW2 as an interpreter (Sonderführer) for General Rommel, in Africa. Towards the end of the war, Caesar helped the italian partisans as a double agent, while he was still serving in the German army. So basically with this book you get:

– A comic written by one of the most importan and influential figures in italian comics history, and in Disney comics history (Federico Pedrocchi);
– The second half of the first episode of "Will Sparrow", one of the very first "anti-heroes" in comics ever, with a series titled to him;
– A comic written by a Wehrmacht officier which was anti-nazist while still serving during nazism in the German army, and was also one of the most important italian comic artists, up to his 1950s-60s collaboration as an illustrator for italian most important science fiction books series, "Urania". Caesar also worked for Fiction House in the 1950s.

If I were you Bill, I’d keep this one. ;)
