The back cover is nicer than the front. Motor City Comics graded all the Northland comics almost without exception as NM-. That being said I don't think my Showcase 24 is as nice as my other Northland comics and I have many.

There was plenty of variation in the Marvels.

None of my Northlands are Marvels and I'd really need to search to find any that aren't graded NM-.

I've a bunch of Northland I had graded from 2001-2003 that I never had noted as a pedigree ;( 

I've probably submitted around 20 Northland's overall very few received a grade that was equal to the cert and none that received higher. Here is one that was equal.

Oakland - I've had over 20 of mine graded.  6 scored higher than Vinny's Label, 8 graded lower and 8 were precise. Overall that's pretty good however part of the credit i feel goes to me for picking out what I felt were the strongest condition books.

Here's one that I always felt was nicer than grade Vinny's label , CGC agreed with me.

It seems I spoke too soon. Here are three other early Northland Green Lanterns I have and they're all graded VF/NM by Motor City Comics:

Diamond Run, which CGC first accepted as a notable pedigree, only to later change its mind and remove it from their pedigree list.

So CGC's grading is just about as good as Vinny's I guess. How do CGC's rates for grading compare to Vinny's then?

That was Vinny circa 1998. His standards IMHO are significantly more lenient since then on books for sale, to the point its Mile High territory.

The Savannah ped is generally looked down on because of the inferior page quality on a lot of books however a lot of the other peds didn't have the late Silver horror books like these

Green River and old label goodness all in the same pic. Pretty sure this would sit in a higher graded holder if it was graded today.

I'm the sucker that bought the "upgraded" copy I guess. S'okay, it lives in it's natural, raw state in one of my boxes now. Don't remember what it was when I bought it... 9.0 or 9.2 I think?
