In other words it was hard to tell and I almost past on it

it's only an 8.0

but it barely reflects, and when it does the color is separated  it was just a tough buy haha even at $1  

but it does help me complete another......  now I just need the Excalibur and the uncanny x-men

This is part of the problem.....they look different at different angles.  There are different levels of color saturation.  They look different when photographed.  You can maneuver some until you get the blue color showing, but only at that specific angle.

We're really looking for holograms that stay fairly true.  No matter what angle you hold it, it's blue, for instance.

Ok so I was at another LCS over the weekend and came across this issue in a dollar bin. I literally had to do a double take because I noticed where the cracks start on the hologram practically match up with the cracks drawn on the cover!

I just laughed and of course I had to buy it.  I do enjoy finding freakish/oddball stuff like this!

boo-yahhh!

the mechanical error shipped today, so I looked up the cert #

to see if it got "regraded" or if it was still a 9.4

I should have done this the other day, as I felt impressed to but put it off, anyway

It DID GET THE DISTORTED HOLOGRAM DESIGNATION!  

I thought the notes would be under the submission tracking, and is why originally I thought that I didn't get it.

SO only 2 more to get correctly slabbed, one of which I already have raw  just need to find the Uncanny X-men #307

Great that they fixed that XF25.  I'd like to see this particular effect get some recognition as a legit oddity.  Certainly it won't get the same attention as a Venom LP 1 Black, but these holograms errors are not particularly common. 

From my experience, the combination colored holograms, like blue/green to varying degrees, are about 1 in 10.  The solid or mostly dark blue probably only a couple per hundred.  The entirely black hardly ever show up.

There are also other errors like this one I have of Xmen 25 where the hologram is upside down.

They really were pretty good workable holograms weren't they? I like them

Compared to some ASM or wolverine holos I like these the best

Still even with all the bumps in fmv for some books these haven't taken off as much. Given what I've posted recently, I think it's partly because people aren't aware of them at all

The X-Men 25 and the wolverine 75 sell the most, I don't blame him, but it may be easier to find in the wild idk

Finally I sent it, and after 5 months, its back!

That was the 2nd to last that I needed for the regular covers, I could get the X-men #25 variant cover if I really wanted to break my neck looking

Is there a market for these in 9.8?  I can't find any recent sales but just found 3 BANGERS at an estate sale.  2 of them are 3/4 black!
