Can anyone tell me anything about these Little Big Books and others

Came across this small collection of books and was just wondering if anyone can tell me if they're worth buying and trying to resell. I know comics but don't have a clue about these. (shrug)

No.

My advice is always:  if you are not familiar with a collectible, do not try to buy and sell it at a profit.  Collect what you like. And in doing so, you will learn what the market is.  Then, if you want to buy and sell things that you are familiar with, go right ahead.  When people start buying and selling collectibles with which they are not very familiar, it rarely ends well.

I'll reiterate this.

There's no good way to estimate a value of these shelves from these pictures. As with comics, condition is important for evaluating BLBs, and we can't see enough. Although, what we can see suggests these are mostly low-grade copies. BLBs with detached covers (like the one labeled thus in the bag) or the spine torn off (to the left of Monsters of Mongo) typically retain negligible value. Intact, but low-grade BLBs aren't worthless, but they're not very valuable either, and they're likely to be very, very slow movers. I didn't check everything visible on these shelves carefully, but I didn't see any of the great rarities.

If you're not already invested in this field, I wouldn't bite on this collection based on what I can see in these pictures. But YMMV.

Maybe @Bookery can add some insight?

Only a little without seeing them in person.

(A)  Star Trek paperbacks... no value.

(B)  Hardbacks without dust-jackets... close to no value.

(C)  Big Little Books -- low demand today even for better titles.  These look rough.  Most probably near worthless, but a few, if better condition, might bring $5-$20 depending on title.

(D)  Burroughs books in dust-jacket can have value.  These are Grosset & Dunlap reprints, but even early G&Ds can bring money if in jacket.  But G&D had multiple printings, and they can vary in value.  Still... any G&D in a decent jacket is probably safe at $20, and some might be worth considerably more.  The Red Ryders in jacket would also have a little value, since jackets on these are not that common.

Good discussions, thanks.

Has the market for BLBs improved since this original post dated 8/30/20? I am sitting on some BLB hand me downs and was curious if there was any positive movement in the market with BLSs?
