  1. Unique storylines and imaginative covers. Something you could always expect from TOTU.
  2. That big fly made me think of the 1950's sci-fi movie "Them!".
  3. Maybe inspiration for Gene Roddenberry’s character; the green skinned seductive dancer Orion Marta in the Star Trek episode " Whom Gods Destroy " (1969)?
  4. Nice find! I always enjoyed DC’s science fiction and fantasy. The writers had great imaginations.
  5. Third DC posting for tonight. FC shows some wear and chiping along the top and bottom edges. Right edge shows some color loss maybe due to foxing? FC corners are blunted. BC is dirty and the BR corner shows a fold. Thanks for looking, comments and grades!
  6. Second up is my favorite comic theme, War. I don't know how they came up with the idea of WWII fighting prehistoric dinosaurs, but it works. FC has some long creases along the spine at the top and corner folds at the BR. BC is surprizingly cleaner than most of my comics, given the way my comics were first put away for storage some 50 years ago. Also bottom center of BC there is a 3/4 to 1 inch tear. Thank you for your comments and grades!
  7. Posting three DCs tonight starting with this one. FC has some spine stresses, blunt corners and the white isn't as clean as I would like. On the other hand the FC has a nice glossy look to it. Back cover shows some foxing? As always appreciate your comments and grades!
  8. Last one for tonight. This was my last HOF as I stopped buying and reading comics around this time. Most of my HOM were from '66-'68. This issue is showing some spine creases, blunt corners, a crease in the FCTR. Small tears around the staples, but the cover is intact. BC is dirty or has foxing, or both. Also on BC, a small ink spot or pen ink to the left of the spaceship. Thanks for looking and grading!
  9. Second up. Spine is well worn, crease in the FCBR, and a small bullet hole in his left arm. Actually a printing error, not a stain. And some serious page fanning as seen from the BC image. Thanks in advance for your comments and grades!
  10. A couple of Marvels and a DC for tonight's submission. First up. Some bends in the corners, FCTR and FCBR. BC not as white as I would like. Otherwise intact with tight spine. Thank you for your comments and grades!
  11. Would a pressing clean up the fanned pages and correctly set the off cetered spine? Thanks!
  12. Yes, upon closer inspection it is a tear. Good eyes!
  13. Yes, Dr Loveless played by Michael Dunn. And Victor Buono as Count Manzeppi. Great villains!
  14. So did I! Friday nights? Loved that opening sequence!
  15. Just for laughs, I'm including this one tonight. I found it towards the bottom of the pile, but doing some research it seems there is some interest in the comic. A lot of white space so it effectively shows off the dirt. Oh well, maybe a c/p could help it out. Appreciate your comments and grades!
  16. A Gold Key favorite as I was a UFO nut during my pre-teens. The comic is thicker than most GK comics, 68 pages. As such, the comic spine is rolled with the staples offset. The BC art continues onto the FC. So maybe this thicker comic was a challenge to the publisher/printer. As always appreciate your comments and grades!
  17. Opting tonight to submit a couple of my favorite Gold Keys and third one. First up is saga of James West and Artemus Gordon. Referred to as "James Bond on horseback". Actually I think Artemus had a very similar wit as Dr Leonard McCoy. Unfortuately there is a chunk on the front cover just above the pool cue. And my inflected creases and stresses that are typical of my comics, of which I am uncovering for the first time in many years. Thanks in advance for your time in reviewing and grading. All of you have been so very helpful with your comments these past 6-7 weeks as I try to select my "ten best" for my first time submission to CGC. Your efforts and time are truely appreciated!
  18. Third and last subission for this evening. Short run by Marvel, 38 issues. Surprizing cleaner BC than most of my SA comics . Printer's crease below word "SPORR". Spine stresses don't help. Appreciate your comment and grades!
  19. Second one up. Unfortunately looks like a horizontal printer's crease and verticle crease through the "Hulk". Also chunk missing FCLR. Tears at staples. Appreciate the comments and grades!
  20. First of three submissions tonight for your review and grade. Odds and ends from my Marvel collection. This one is in rough shape. Spine roll and stresses, curls, bad wrap, Bent and blunt corners, water stains and just plain dirty. Thanks for your comments and grades!
  21. The majority of BLBs by Whitman Publishing were hardback covers. For some reason unbeknownst to me, a few soft covers were published. Below are three exmples. I am assuming the stories in soft covers are identical to the hardback versions. I don't have hardback copies to compare. Sign of the times. In 2012 the biglittlebook.com website valued these softcovers respectively: VG $200, FR $125, VG$150. I doubt we will see those values in the near future.
  22. 1-10-100 rule. Basic TQ. Fix it upstream or it’s going to cost the company a lot of money downstream.
  23. Neat books! I was unaware of these premium issues and am assuming they are identified by the blue edge of the spine.
