I have all my comics stored in short boxes but there is a lot of room in the boxes. Is this something I should change? Also I have a box of about 40 comics stacked horizontally in the short box is this ok or should I change that?

there  was a decently long thread here not that long ago on this subject.  If ur worried about the comics not standing upright you could try filling the empty spaces with towels/rags or bubble wrap.  You didn't mention if they're in bags/boards.  Since u have plenty of room, why r u keeping some stacked on top of each other?  Are they all aligned on the spine side or did u alternate each other one? Take a look at the ones on the bottom and see if they look ok still.

Make sure the spines are alternating.
