Speaking of The Outsider, here are two lovely association copies, Robert Bloch's and Clark Ashton Smith's.  Bloch's copy has both Bloch's bookplate and Lovecraft's bookplate, which Lovecraft had sent to Bloch in 1933.  Smith's is signed and dated by him.

This was a great buy on ebay and I don't mind that the book is a library "discard".  Who in Crom's name would dicard this fantastic book?  This is the trade edition not the deluxe but it still is a first edition.  Still it has many illustrations.

Does anyone know how to remove a mylar cover where it looks like the inner flaps are glued to the boards?  I want to put on a better looking one.

With very carefull pealing I was able to remove the mylar book cover from the boards.  The book has a brand new cover and looks much better.

I have been on a Frank Frazetta book buying spree.  The Book Cover Art title has been a real treat.  The other two that I bought are older publications Icon and Legacy not pictured here.

Not quite as splashy as the Smith book, but I like this 1975 "House of the Worm" title still in the shrinkwrap, just because it reminds me of how I first discovered Arkham House books, haunting the stacks of the Forbidden Planet mega store on lower Broadway in Greenwich Village when I was a teenager.

I did read my original copy and remember enjoying the stories but think I'll keep this one "under wraps" since it has survived 48 years thus...

I'm slowly working on the Arkham collection. Since obtaining copies of my all time grails, "The Outsider and Others", by H. P. Lovecraft, and "Out of Space and Time" by Clark Ashton Smith, a while back, I've decided to chip away at the other titles I had or wanted to have years ago. I never thought I'd have a chance at the ones I always wanted, but getting the two big books has given some impetus to get all the ones I really connect with.

Another re-acquisition of one I had back in the 1980's. Started a re-read now that I finished re-reading "Slan" and find I still like this weird *stuff*. From online reviews, this is one people either love the wordcraft or hate the lack of action. I like the wordcraft and just take it for what it is, a weird tale.

Keeping it alive with this signed copy of Nelson Bond's "Nightmares and Daydreams" that came in this week. DJ and book are real sharp.

As inscriptions go, it's pretty cool.

Brought another one into the fold - I remember enjoying this volume very much the first time around back in the 1980's. Keller is hard to pigeonhole because he wrote all kinds of stuff. Jacket by Ronald Clyne is pretty cool as well

I've only ever seen a couple of actual copies, and several more pictures of copies, but this one is, hands down, the prettiest copy I ever saw. Now where's that winning lottery ticket when you need it? I'm sharing it here because there are some here who CAN afford it. It would certainly be a cornerstone to any Lovecraft collection. GOD BLESS ...

That is a beast of a copy. When I was in college at NYU in the 1980's I worked for a while for Eric Kramer at his Fantasy Archives on 8th Avenue in Manhattan and he always had 5 or 6 copies of the Outsider that I was astonished at being able to see/handle. Some real nice ones, he had ridiculous material like L.W. Currey carries (who was his main competitor for top material)   I'm happy and blessed to have a copy now. It doesn't look quite like that one!
