Whats *the* comic convention to go to next year?

Are the strip joints there better than Montreal poke2.gif

No

In Montreal, and at some of the more seedy joints by the New Brunswick boarder, some of the strip clubs let you play a game with the strippers called "Just The Tip" 893scratchchin-thumb.gif

I am hoping to get upto Toronto for the convention and then down to the windy city for WW Chicago. I think I'd rather go to Chicago out of all the conventions, I always hear how SDCC is the biggest, but it's more commercial where WW Chicago is the place if you are a buyer, and I want to be a buyer.

I've only been to the Motor City Shows. How does it compare to the others. (I've always heard about SD being the best. )

For me, the Motor City shows seem to be the same every year. Are the others similair in that there's a lot of non-comic booths to wade through? (Sorry, not interested in bootleg DVD's, swords, t-shirts, toys, etc. Not that there's anything wrong with that. )

Some observations on Motor City:

1. Not to be a prude, but I don't think porn DVD's belong at a comic show. If I were Mike, I'd try to clean that up. You can see them just walking by the booth. And you're marketing to kid's to some extent.

2. Do the other shows have the booths that look like they've went through a storm? If the dealer doesn't have the time to at least alphabetize, then I don't have the time to wade through. If Spawn #1 is the "big" book on the wall, I know to keep walking. Yeah, maybe I miss some great deal, but I usually find it's either all new stuff or it's all beat up.

OK, somebody help me off my soapbox...

Been there many times, Motor City doesn't compare at all to the big guns like WW Chicago thats for sure.
