Bronze Marvel Titles 1970-1980

anyone know which was the first Marvel horror title?

If you mean the 1st bronze age Marvel horror title from the list above, it's Tower of Shadows (9/69), but Marvel Tales #93 (the first horror issue after the name switch in the Marvel Mystery title) came out in 8/49. Not sure if that was the 1st Marvel/Timely horror issue overall, but I can't think of any others...

Great list, TY!  I was wondering if you would happen to have a list similar from Marvel between 1980 -1989?   I have looked all over the net but have not had much luck.

hey drbanner!

I'm closing in on finishing my collection of every Marvel comic from the 1960s, so I've got my sights set next on doing the 1970s, and needed a checklist.  Thank you so so much, your list has been invaluable!  However, I have added to it a bit and thought my take on it might be of value to someone - I've included specific item numbers on my list, and also included the non-comics Curtis magazines.  Instead of treating the Giant Size books as all starting with "G", I've grouped them with the individual titles they were associated with, mostly because that's the way I plan to sit them in my boxes, as I smile while they slowly come in, book by book.  My list is far from definitive - it does not include paperbacks or trade paperbacks, nor does it acknowledge all of the possible variants (30c, 35c, Whitman, Mark Jewelers, etc), and while some treasuries are here, I have not really tackled that issue yet, the treasuries are just barely represented and woefully lacking, but for me, it is a good jumping off point to try and achieve the goal of owning every Marvel publication from the 1970s.

Perhaps someone else could put together lists of all the Marvel paperbacks, trade paperbacks and treasuries from the era?  That would rock!

Thank you again for your list, it has been a godsend!  I appreciate your effort more than you know, and hope that my meager efforts are a contribution to the cause.

Ugh!  after I posted, I immediately noticed a mistake -  the full run of Battlestar Galactica is not from the 1970s, just issues #1-10.  My apologies!

Imagine how he feels.

He included Homer, the Happy Ghost, and didn't include the Amazing Spider-Man.

Cool list....okay, votes on which run is the toughest to complete - my vote goes for Our Love Story, followed by Mad About Millie!

Mad About Millie has stood the test of CGC time as being tough in high grade. As of now, there are two issues with no CGC slabs at 8.0 or tougher and two issues with zero graded copies.

Our Love Story has a smattering of higher grade slabs since this post. Although, it still has one issue with zero graded copies. This one is difficult, but can be done. One copy might prevent someone from a higher grade run.

Dynomutt actually can be done slabbed or raw at this point,

Wyatt Earp is still extremely difficult in high grades. Each of the 5 issues does have at least one book graded at 9.0 or above. I wasn't sure that was going to ever be the case.

At this point, I think the Bronze Marvel run that is currently the most difficult to put together in high grade is...

Spoiler

Chili! A whopping seven issues have zero copies graded (5) or copies with no graded copies at 8.0 or higher (2). I believe this is now the Marvel run with the most Bronze issues with zero graded copies.
