Yes I agree. Perhaps I am at fault as well for making an assumption, but I really do feel like I was dealing a collector not a flipper. I honestly would never have let it go for that price. I really thought I was helping someone out.

Lesson learned GG

Don’t let it consume you, otherwise, it’ll potentially sour you to this great hobby and the scores of really good and passionate collectors hear and beyond.

The intention by the buyer was there regardless of his approach. You don’t sell a grail immediately upon acquisition and if you do, the respectable thing would be to offer a piece of the sale to the seller. Off my soapbox.

On Sept 12 I was approached out of the blue, asking would I sell a pretty sought after GA book. The prospective buyer's exact words.....

Been wanting this book forever and the $850 one is a bit out of my price range at the moment.

on Oct 12 he flipped the book on the Boards for $1200.

I give it about 18 minutes before someone is interested enough to figure this out. It won't be me, but all the info is there! (I think)

Just so you know...

When crops (or anyone) does an @Buzzetta, it's just a boardie shortcut to 'This thread is undoubtedly going to be interesting".  It has nothing to do with saying Buzzetta is the culprit.

Who's "crops"?  Anyway, I do my @Buzzettas my way, you do your @Buzzettas your way.

Edit: I now suspect @thunsicker

I'd be interested in seeing some of that Detective work

I mean I won't be involved, because I know some intricate details

Some good points made, but Paul is 100% not at fault at all, he was kind enough to do the deal and the buyer acted with malicious intent. Now considering the current climate, maybe he had to sell the book, I don't know

I should also add that I bought the book in question from a Boardie, and only sold it because I had two other graded copies. I made no money on the sale whatsoever.

Not complaining about that, I was just trying to pay it forward.

You did

This is a touchy situation, how does that affect pl lists?

Honestly

Maybe there should be a rule on the length of time you can buy a book on the boards and resell it
