Hi, I was wondering if anyone here could help me put a value on this comic book that I purchased a long time ago. Unfortunately I wasn't very active in the last few years and I'm not entirely sure how much this might be worth today. I tried on eBay but there is no sale data for this specific issue. As you can see it's a 5.0, moderately restored with white pages (Apologies for the image quality but I don't have access to a better camera at the moment).FullSizeRender-1.thumb.jpeg.c0e110a07ffbedb592bdfc94f696aa98.jpegFullSizeRender.thumb.jpeg.467c7d4364721a47cbd7149bf908f954.jpeg

I had a quick look online and found:

eBay sold:

eBay BIN:

Heritage (in order of last sale):

Quality Comix:

They collectively indicate that it's likely in the hundreds, not thousands of dollars.

Good luck

Given the restoration and sold values $179.

I don't buy/sell restored books so I could be wrong, but that seems a little low to me.  A restored 5.0 sold way back in 2005 for 172.50, and most comics are way up since then.  A blue-label 3.0 sold recently for 380.00.  Based on that, I'd think a universal 5.0 would probably go for around $600.  If you want to half that for the restoration, it would be $300, but I also think some restoration is more acceptable on a book from 1941, and this one also has great eye appeal IMO, so I would say $350.

I've dabbled in Whiz and Master Comics for the last decade. I'd put in low ball bids at various auctions and if they went cheap, I often won them.

Few, if any , seem to have appreciated much. I recently consigned a bunch and I think I will end up taking a loss on some. My guess is it wouldn't bring $300 on ebay. I think my offer is fair, but I'm a bit biased.
