For Those Jaded With HG SA, Even This Will Raise Your Eyebrows...

i post a unique 9.8 SA comic and everyone just yawns... the sign of changing times?

It's also the fact that it's a DC. People will blather on for hours here over some common Marvel that they've seen a million times before, but put on a DC, and you can hear the tumbleweed rolling on by.

Bingo. Marvel zombies rule the school.

It IS probably the most common DC key from the period, so maybe that's part of it.

gotta agree that a HG DC from late 1965 just isn't going to get the SA forum members too jazzed up (unfortunately). it is the only 9.8 so far, after all.............

but it's not rare and despite it's significance in the DC universe, it's not that universally appealling.

and the asking price is so high as to be a turnoff............BUT, takeit.gif

Must...look...at...comic...not...avatar...

speaking of which - what is ur avatar? looks like i'm looking down someone's throat... ??

As alluded to, that's up the other end. It's an image from a colonoscopy, but it's a heart. It's a really bad stab at nerd humor. confused-smiley-013.gif

Nice, but not rare by any means. If you don't have one, there are always tons of them for sale in this shape or better. devil.gif

Maybe we should all change our avatars to match 14_of_Spades. confused-smiley-013.gif

$4350- that's a 40% haircut from price reported on PGC Mint. Ouch.

Not entirely a surprise. The game of High Grade Musical Chairs has been underway for well over a year now. Its just a matter of who is left standing when the music stops.

Marvel is much different than DC. There are usually three or four big time collectors of every SA title, with hundreds more who want nice HG copies (just don't need 9.4 of higher of thousand dollar books).

Plus, several big collectors complete one run and start on another (or are constantly upgrading).

Over the past month, I have been shut out on several books that I need (and felt I was bidding a reasonable amount for), as I can see a few major players are now collecting these titles.

A Mark Wilson Ultra Super Retail Price versus an eBay result is at least part of the issue here.

True, and having a reserve probably hurt it as well.
