Can someone please show me where the centering is off on these 2 cards? These just popped this morning from a sub that I had cherry picked for 10s and I ended up with a single 9.5.....

If this is what constitutes an 8.5 for centering these days then I think it is actually impossible to ever get a 10.

Scizor is top heavy on back. Zamazenta is top and right heavy on the front

Editing my post: CGC as a continuous improvement initiative I recommend Q/A testing/reviewing Centering grades across different cards (specifically Vmaxes as a focal point) as well as comparing Centering grades on sub-graded slabs vs non-subgraded slabs for the same card (again, Vmaxes as a focal point).

Keep kicking !!

I don't get that response. It's a micrometer off on the back so 8.5 seems perfectly reasonable? The Zamazenta is about as good as you can get. In fact, if I were to suggest which side is off it would be left heavy not right heavy but the longer you stare at it the more equal they look.

Both CGC and BGS have allowed the slightest amount of off centered backs even for 10s. I'm not asking for or expecting a 10. I think both of these cards meet the 9.5 standard with flying colors but even a 9 would have kept the overall grade at a 9.5 on both. Here are a few examples of 8.5 for your viewing pleasure:

Amazing Rares

https://www.cgccomics.com/certlookup/3768031009/9_0/ (8.5 centering)

https://www.cgccomics.com/certlookup/3790341014/9_0/ (8.5 centering)

https://www.cgccomics.com/certlookup/3756762045/9_0/ (8.5 centering)

https://www.cgccomics.com/certlookup/3768031006/9_0/ (8.5 centering)

VMAX

https://www.cgccomics.com/certlookup/3814670001/9_0/ (8.5 centering)

https://www.cgccomics.com/certlookup/3807597001/9_0/ (8.5 centering)

https://www.cgccomics.com/certlookup/3774439022/9_5/ (Scizor 9.0 centering)

https://www.cgccomics.com/certlookup/3757505007/9_0/ (Scizor 9.0 centering)

I mean come on. I was under the impression that computers graded the centering and that was supposed to reduce inconsistencies. I feel the opposite has happened.

I would contact CS if you want to have CGC regrade it sucks that, this is seeming to become a worse issue but the 1st Zam in the post followed by the 1st one in the larger list both got 8.5 while one is by far worse. send pictures in of both and se what they say.
