Krazy Kat Strike

61 posts in this topic

What exactly did you get it for? I'd have given you lots by now, but I'm not sure what you're final crime was. [And you'd done so well with the Tyson-Ali thread, which was great fun! thumbsup2.gif].

I personally think it was unwarranted but thats what happens when everyone PM's the moderator like 3rd graders. I posted a picture of soldiers Goose-Stepping and said some on the board were acting like Nazis. I guess you cant do that. Kinda BS if you ask me....but Im not liked here. It is apparent.

FWIW, I don't think that's worth a strike. But, it's kind of like the cops coming along and planting 3oz of dope on you to fit you up. You've sailed close to the wind in the past and somehow gotten away with it, so you should probably view this as karma.

FWIW again, I would persoanlly have given myself about 6 strikes by now. The numbers of times I've logged on in the morning convinced I'd see my name in that particular forum, only to be stunned that I'd somehow avoided it, makes me think that in my next incarnation I should change my name to TheCat.

KK,

For all the things you've said, you get a strike for this? You showed a bunch of Nazis, with your intention (I think) being "you're all a bunch of sheep", as you've said multiple times. Did it come across as anti-semitic? Is that why you received the strike?

Hello KK

I don't think that you should have received a strike for that pic. However you may need to show some regard when placing pics such as this as several of our more senior members may have been a lot closer to the affects of Nazi Germany than you or I. confused-smiley-013.gif

Then again you will never please everyone as your sig line really pizzes me off. every time I see one of your posts I have to scoll past 4 OA pics that you hijacked from the Heritage site. If you want to advertise Multiple Heritage pics in you sig line can you at least place them side by side. 893naughty-thumb.gif

Maybe you could scan some of your own OA and show us that instead???

Regards,

Russ

Hari,

There was nothing patently anti-semitic in my post.

In fact, I articulated that my own grand-parents were Holocaust victims and that Jerry Seinfeld used 'The Soup Nazi' in an episode. However,...when you have guys PM'ing the moderator like 3rd graders,....????

What the Dilly-oooo ? confused-smiley-013.gif

You should know by now there are certain topics (of a racial, gender, ethnic nature) that one should ALWAYS avoid, no matter what you say, because someone is bound to misinterpret it and label you as a racist, misogynist, or pervert. Not worth it. And sometimes it will expose your true character- e.g., the recent comments of William Bennett, our modern day Tartuffe. (not that his true character was ever in doubt).

Perhaps you are right. But I am not a PC hack.

Im not blaming the moderator,..but those that PM'ed the moderator are LOSER HACKS OF THE HIGHEST ORDER.

And their PM'ing the mod proves this !

You proud of yourself Chrisco37 ????????????????

I didn't even notify them, KK. Others did. I've never been able to figure out how.

That said, I'm glad you got a strike. I find you the most obnoxious poster we've ever had here. I await the day you are banned for good.

I'm all for good fun, but I think you're demeaning to people, disrespectful of others, etc.

I don't appreciate the way that have treated most of us that aren't in your little "art circle".

The list goes on....

JMHO.

Well,..you actually said that you were going to post to the moderator so its very hard to take your own words at anything other than face value.

And the fact that you dont like my personality is a pretty LAME justification for encouraging a PC mentality. You are imho, a threat to free speech, as there is no way my post was incendiary to anyone other than the most 'thin skinned' individual.

That said,...you have to live with yourself so I could care less what you think of my personality.

Your right. sumo.gif People today are too quick to judge others and almost always in a negative light. This appears to be recent phenomena in our over-media'd culture. People hear want they want to hear and too often let their personal beliefs twist their interpretation of what is said. In today’s world it’s not what you do that matters it what you say that matters. The old saying, “Actions speak louder then words” is no longer true in today’s society.

The result of this is that we no longer have honest debates over issues. We have personal attacks and character assassinations instead. - Nuff Said

Is this the thread where we post PC crackpot remarks? confused-smiley-013.gif

Insightful work well-written and with a good warning.

This is very informative and contains a serious warning that every parent needs to read. It sheds light on the "seduction" of young minds by businesses through comic books for profit. Unfortunately, this problem still exists and has bleeded over to video games, movies, and just about anything else a young child can purchase for a few dollars. Nevertheless, I strongly recommend it.

A frightening, compelling work of comic book history

Wertham's book is shocking, and what shocks about it is that it's true. Wertham backs up all his claims with brilliantly gathered evidence, including an appendix of images so horrifying you won't believe they were printed by publishers like "Tiny Tots Comics." Members of the comic book community would have you believe that Wertham was a crackpot with some unexplained personal grudge against comic books; they wish to protect the memory of comic books for reasons of nostalgia, or else they've never read the book and are regurgitating the words of those who have. Research against Wertham's findings is generally inconclusive or fabricated, and nobody really knows this, because the book is so hard to find, especially in good condition (the near-pornographic illustrated material inside is a target). Read Wertham's book and decide for yourself. I think that anyone who reads this book will see that comic books of the 1950s really were pornography being sold to children, and that the code of restrictions inspired by Wertham's work actually helped comic books by bringing them to the super-hero apex of the 60s, rather than hindering them by destroying crime comics once and for all. 893whatthe.gif
