This is from the GPA website.

GOING BACK TO THE BEGINNING

The first CGC Census data available for evaluation is from July 1, 2001. At that time, CGC had been open to the public for eighteen months. In the first CGC census, 77,363 comic books had been graded, which gives a very rough estimate of 50,000 comic books graded in the first year of CGC’s history, or about 1,000 comics per week.

I thought that sounded familiar... https://comics.gpanalysis.com/news/2021/slabbing-comics-cgc-census-retrospective-the-first-two-years

Hey long timers from the beginning. Was the CGC census around from the beginning of CGC or when did it come along?

Not at the start...it was a year or two later

The first CGC Census data was July 2001 (18 months), then January 2002 (6 months later), but no updates until July 2003 (18 months later).  At least once every 6 months since, and (basically) weekly for the past 10 years.

You can "turn back the clock" and search the old CGC census data at CGCdata.com
