it's hard to believe there was a time when late night talk shows had underground/independant comic creators as guests. it never will happen again. Lynda Barry's appearances on Letterman were great too.

Letterman hit the jack pot with harvey pekar-way more entertaining than the actor that just had a movie released and what not.

For years I would see his anthologies at tower books and flip thru them but they seemed boring so I never bought one.  Then finally I did and I was hooked.  All my splendor books are heavily notated by me with comments, extra word balloons and insulting humorous comments about harvey's antics-but I love the guy.  The Brabner book for example when she went to isreal or whatever I wrote a thought balloon for her saying "I havent acted dramatic for a while" then she did the breakdown scene.

Just finished the whole thing damn that was enjoyable.  I wish my dad was alive to see it.  He also was a big harvey fan.  We did catch one of the appearances together and how we laughed.
