The same dot pattern is there on both pics. You can discern the largest black dots on the right side of the O and the top of the L in the fuzzy before photo.

Given that the rips are in the same location on both books, it's likely the press has something sharp in it that ripped both books in the same spot.

The guy that did the pressing ended up giving the books to the owner of the LCS without telling me or him about the damage. The owner of the store once I realized the damage saw I was getting heated and pissed and the owner had the balls to say to me that I should NOT tell the presser guy because he would never come back (presses the owners books for free) and if I told him how I felt that he would never come back to the store. So I snapped at the owner for being uncaring or unmoved with the books that were damaged. Then I go home and I realize I lost about $3k due to the damage of the books and what the grades were before the press. They had non color breaking spine creases.

So basically I went down from Marvel Spotlight #32 (before a press 9.4) and I was hoping for a 9.6 with the press but now am lucky if it comes back a 7.0/7.5 , the Marvel Special edition #15...went from a 9.4 EASILY to a 7.5/8.0 with the same tear at the top of the book maybe 3 Centimeters.... So I lost money... a lot of potential money....

Did you do any research or ask any questions before trusting these guys?  How long have they been in business?  How long has the presser been pressing?  What's their reputation in the local comic collecting community?  There are lots of guys pressing comics but few are great and many are hacks.  You need to  be proactive when allowing other people to handle your fragile and expensive books.

And the LCS owner asking you not to complain to the presser should raise huge red flags for you.  He's not to be trusted and he certainly doesn't care about you or your business.

I'm sure the OP didnt expect my opinion,  maybe he thought I would have been more sympathetic to his plight . Next time maybe find that elusive high grade book, instead of manufacturing one. The hunt is way more fun.😉
