Despite her sudden exit on Friday, Alonso is credited as a producer on the upcoming Marvel films “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3” and “The Marvels,” plus the Disney+ shows “Secret Invasion,” “Ironheart,” “Echo” and “Agatha: Coven of Chaos.”

So we have 5+ films to wade through before we can begin to see light at the end of the tunnel

Victoria Alonso is also a credited producer on Avengers Endgame, Infinity War, Black Panther, Thor Ragnarok, Captain America Winter Soldier, Iron Man, and every other Marvel Studios project.

Oh her 'legacy' is well cemented in our minds.

The lead time on movies is around the 3 year mark.   So hopes of seeing a great MCU movie can be parked until 2026.

Phase 6 for the win!!

Just do like I'm doing (and based on box office results and streaming ratings alot of others are as well) just don't watch them.  Don't have to wade through anything!

We do, the hype-market of book prices will tank, thats a major blow to everyone.

The MCU will (already is) a parody of it's former self at this point.

So many guys here reviewing movies, and saying even their kids were rolling their eye's, and face palming at the dialogue, and character's put before them.

Variety spoke with several visual effects artists to discuss their time working in Marvel Cinematic Universe. One VFX artist, who asked to remain anonymous, stated that the biggest issue for them was Marvel’s inability to provide clear guidelines. "The show I was on really struggled because it was an established character whose powers they were reconceiving for the MCU," the artist explained. They added that a common complaint in the VFX industry is how "Marvel doesn’t figure mess out beforehand."

While the exact reason for Alonso's firing is currently unknown, she was reportedly "singularly responsible for Marvel's toxic work environment: a kingmaker who rewarded unquestioning fealty with an avalanche of work, but who also maintained the blacklist that kept FX pros wild-eyed with fear." One source also indicated that everyone was "quite scared" of the former executive.

Girlboss Alonso. :flamethrower:

Don't expect major changes. Now they have confirmed why she was terminated. And it wasn't the VFX handling. But it definitely involved an assumption she could work around company policies.

The Oscar-nominated drama Argentina, 1985 was at the center of last week’s sudden firing of longtime Marvel Studios executive Victoria Alonso, The Hollywood Reporter has learned.

Alonso was one of the eight producers of the international production that was distributed by Amazon. However, by doing so, she breached her contract, several times, according to sources. After repeated warnings, the situation came to a head the week after the Oscars and ultimately led to her termination. It was a seismic shakeup at Marvel, where for years Alonso was part of the holy trinity — along with Marvel Studios boss Kevin Feige and co-president Louis D’Esposito — who led the Marvel Cinematic Universe to ever-greater heights.

According to insiders, Alonso breached a 2018 agreement that saw her violate the company’s standards of business conduct that stated employees would not work for competing studios.

Sources say that Alonso did not ask permission to work on Argentina, 1985 nor did she give notice but did the film of her own volition. (However, an IndieWire piece published last month on the film stated that she did have permission.) When Disney found out about the project and the violation, her longtime service and veteran status engendered the company to give her a dispensation on the condition she would not work on the movie further. She was to also not promote it or publicize it in any way. The situation of a top executive working on a movie outside company confines was deemed serious enough to involved the management audit team and a new memo was signed, according to an insider.

I don't. I expect Nu-Disney to ridicule Cap's sexual history as long as he's blonde.

She was guilty of the one unforgivable sin in LA, and it wasn't this fig leaf nonsense about either mean boss or rouge producer - it was (shared) failure.  At the same time Disney could send a wide message by doing a brush back from the plate to the so-called "protected classes" - those being female, POC, and gay.  The combo of all three was probably seen as invulnerable, until the Florida conundrum perhaps led to a certain rethinking in the board room.  imho of course.

All of the woke activism has resoundingly blown up in the face of Disney.

But to think Alonso is the biggest, and sole rotten apple at Disney is just wishful thinking on my part.
