Maybe it's from tape getting stuck to the cover.

My thoughts too, or maybe it's from comics being stacked on top of each other without bags and boards :tink:

color lift is when color of the book has been removed or "lifted off" by some means. Usually it is from stacking

I thought tape pull in notes would be specifically stated, but didnt know, or how cgc would tell the difference lol

Just figured somehow they did. Lifted must be a effect, only brought on by certain things

But thanks for the heads up! So I can avoid some of the pitfalls....

Absolutely. I think tape pull would also be a more moderate to severe example of color lift. It differs from color rub which is more of an abrasion.

Seeing that your book was a 9.6, you're likely looking a very tiny speckles of lift on either or both covers. Probably very hard to detect depending on where they are on the cover.

Not going to turn this into a I got robbed thread. As I haven’t even got the book back. It’s Darth Maul #2 1:25. The issue with this book and the notes I received is that cover art has white flecks all over the book. So when I see these notes and I look at this cover man I don’t know, guess we shall see.
