It’s the inker that botched it.  You can see the proper thumb in light green at the bottom of the second ‘E’ in DAREDEVIL.  He inked that as cloth green, and then inked a pseudo thumb in brown out of what should have been light green torn fabric. :eek:

I see what your saying and thanks, but regardless, this is ain't winning any awards for best cover any time soon....

Klaus Janson’s figurework was never quite up to the standard of Miller’s and shortcomings weren’t that uncommon if you scrutinise his pencil art.

Nonetheless, a superb, dark, atmospheric inking style.
