Noticeable fold on comic book cover 1 1

I was wondering how much does a noticeable fold in the middle of a comic book cover affect the grading? It does not break color.  Can it still be considered 9.8?

I doubt it. Maybe if it were pressed out.

Are we talking subscription crease? Vertical top to bottom? Be lucky to get beyond 4.5 in many cases, even for an otherwise tidy looking book. Most unlikely that a subscription copy would in any case be perfect in all other respects. But pictures would help, and posted in the Buddy Can You Spare a Grade section. Welcome to the boards BTW

It’s hard to get a good shot but here is a picture.  The line runs from the top of the car to pretty much all the way to the top.  What do you guys think?

Tough to say without seeing the rest of the book, but a quality pressing may make a noticeable improvement...

Here’s the rest of the book.  It’s already graded 9.8.  I just received it and it bothers me that I’m not getting a 9.8 book that I expect to get.  Besides that folding in the center, there is a minor v shaped fold or crease and another small minor line crease.

You'll have to check the seller's return policy.  Some have free returns up to 30 days for any reason, even if you don't like it, even if you change your mind.  Otherwise, step 1 would be to communicate with the seller and explain that you have a problem with the comic's condition. 

I would only use the not-as-described route as a last resort, since it was probably advertised as a CGC 9.8 and you got a CGC 9.8.  But it is true that all 9.8's are not created equal.

I think that I see it, which makes me think that this is over-graded. It's not a 9.8 IMO.

I sold a 9.8 with multiple spine bends because it drove me crazy.

 

I own a 9.8 with a color break on the spine. I dont look at it because it bothers me.

 

I have PERFECT 9.8s.

 

My question is...if I can have 9.8s with spine wear...WHERE ARE THE 9.9s - 10s?
