APDallas
There is talk that SPIDERMAN: NO WAY HOME could reach a billion dollars. While the last 3 MCU films barely broke even or even lost money. How do you think this will effect both properties moving forward? Marvel selling SPIDERMAN may have have been either a genius move or the worst mistake they ever made. SONY is too big for Disney to buy. What do you think the MCU has that could out do SPIDERMAN? Perlman had Marvel on the brink of bankruptcy (or were they already there?) when he was strip mining the company and selling off everything that wasn't nailed down. Based on what I have seen so far in "Phase Bore" of the MCU they don't have anything that will compete with Spiderman (as long as Sony doesn't royally screw it up again like it has done in the past). theCapraAegagrus
No. All of the good 'Spider-Verse' stuff has occurred within the MCU. Symbiotes and Miles Morales are not going to get the same draw as Peter Parker. Larryw7

More than anything yet from the MCU. We'll see what No Way Home Does to complement this. But nothing matched Sony's animated movie yet from the MCU. comicginger1789
If Sony is smart, they will recognize that the MCU seems to have a handle on things and continue to work with them while maintaining their rights to the character. The moment the MCU starts to falter (which could happen if "oh yeah umm the multiverse caused it" becomes the catch all for things that crop up in future flicks), then SONY can sell or pull out and do their own Spidey stuff again. Tom Holland's Spider-Man has Tony Stark and Stephen Strange in his movies. And now the Sinister Six (whether or not they're actually called that in the movie). Tough to beat that. But then you reflect on Into The Spider-Verse and it is just as impressive. Norman Osborn/Green Goblin Wilson Fisk/Kingpin Tombstone Aaron Davis/Prowler Olivia Octavius/Doctor Octopus Scorpion Loads of Spidey-Verse goodness! And without an 'MCU daddy' to carry Petey forward.
