@Point Five as someone who did this before, what would be your cut off ? 

I would not be giving 0 points though, I would just remove the player from the contest.

If he doesn't show up in time.

You could just assign as NG guesses or a "-" and if he shows up for later rounds he would just be missing the round.  Which would still keep him at the bottom of the list unless someone else misses a round.

Assign him a zero for this round...he'll still be ahead of about 6 of us anyway...

I would end the current round right now, and going forward I would just stick to your stated cutoff time. Otherwise it just drags on forever, and irks the rest of the folks who hustled to get their grades in on time.

I have to go wash the kids.  I'll be back in half an hour. If I don't hear back by then, I will post the answers and add @Math Teacher to the contest since they wanted in and sent me the grades in time even if they were "playing at home".
