It's not common, but it's not super rare either. There are 50 or so on the census and it pops up from time to time. Hard to grade from the pic, but it looks like the grade would top out at 6.5 at best. $2500 seems like a very strong offer to me. A 6.0 sold for $780 last year.

If you were really offered $2,500 hundred for that book, you should absolutely take it and run!  Not that rare and not worth that amount.

For reference, there's a slabbed 4.0 sitting for sale on eBay right now for ~$550 US.

Granted, it's faded - but it reinforces what everyone above has said. No chance a 6.5-7.0 is worth anywhere close to $2,500.

Most of the atomic era Avons aren't very hard to find. I wouldn't call this book rare. $2500 is more than it is worth.

It's not April 1

I remember vastly overpaying $40. Redbeard for my vg copy back in the late 1970’s. He turned me on to Avons back when no one cared about them. This was one of my favorites.
