Damned porch pirates. They are getting bad around here too. We *know* one of the neighbors is a package stealing SOB; we have him on camera stealing a box off the neighbor’s patio & his license plate is clearly visible. We sent the video to the neighbor & they contacted the police.

Thieves suck, but you have to use some common sense. These packages can be tracked so it isn't a surprise when they will arrive.  If you can't be there to recieve them, get some else to do it.  Ask the delivery service to hold it for pick up or schedule a delivery when someone will be home.

yes, I passed along the info to some south jersey folk and also stated STRUCTURE FOR SUCCESS

But I don't know the details, did driver sign himself and leave them? I am sure Derek is sick to himself. Proactive is better than reactive though, pick them up at the po/fedex/ups!

From my experience, FedEx or USPS signs it themselves and leaves at your front doorstep.

UPS will also pull the same chit.  I used to have all my packages shipped to the office due to this very reason.  But since I hate my new office space and don't go in unless I have to, I've been fortunate that my new postlady actually follows protocols and leaves me a pick-up notice for anything I'm not home to sign for.

It's taking someone bad experiance to use it as a teaching moment, unless you think it's a good idea to leave thousands of dollars worth of anything on your porch.
