Help me identify a comic! 0

Calling all Golden Age nerds, I need your help! I ran across a book a while ago and cant remember what it is for the life of me and it's driving me CRAZY. All I remember is that it was a golden age title, very rare (Gerber 8 or 9), not part of any of the big titles you would think of when GA comes to mind. The cover is basically a castle archway entrance with a gate in front and a woman's severed head stuck on one of the gate spikes, and a guy running off into the distance. I will now grace you with my artistic recreation that will hopefully jog someone's memory

As another point of interest, I found that this cover was reworked from a splash page at the end of Pep Comics #32. (Kinda crazy that someone at MLJ looked at it and said "whoa hold on now, that's cover material!")
