Large Initials on Back Cover of Silver Age Book...

So my local comic shop has a bunch of silver age issues from a collector who decided to write his initials on the back of every book very large and in black marker. It doesn't go through to the last page before the back cover. My question is, with this defect what is the highest grade I can expect, or rather, what is the hit for this defect?

Thanks!IMG_20220504_132330827.thumb.jpg.d17ea4ed23ab05eb89e1ecd0391f5205.jpg

Since marker was used I'd expect it to drop to the FN/VF range. It shouldn't effect a book's grade FN or lower. Were a pen used it probably could get a VF grade if the book presents no other significant defects.

Here's a couple of examples that arguably could support my guess.
